Wedding

Blue Lake RV Resort

Naples, ID

Yes, it's that far away.

Why Idaho

Since neither of us still have our parents, we wanted to try to celebrate with as much immediate family as we have left.

Rose's largest collection of family is her stepmom (Liz) and brothers in Idaho, who have graciously offered to host us at their campground and small farm. Liz is helping with all aspects of the wedding. Thank you Liz!

There are also cute farm animals.

What to do

We're going to be hanging around pretty much the whole week surrounding the date setting stuff up and we are going to have some events the whole weekend.

  • Wine bar ice cream socials twice per day to say hi to everyone who makes it out. We will have food and pop, not just wine.
  • Hiking excursions to see waterfalls.
  • Camping stuff like fishing and burning things and pooping in the woods
  • Look at animals

Where to Stay

Ideally you can stay in the campground. But, if the cabins run out and you don't have a motorhome, there're tons of hotels in Sandpoint, ID. We will come pick you up in the van if you can get to Sandpoint and don't have a rental car. Speaking of getting there...

How to get there

If you have an RV: drive. It's fun.

If you don't, it's harder. Direct flights go to Seattle, which gives you a lot of options. You can rent a car and drive 6 hours, or you can hop on the Amtrak. There is an Amtrak station in Sandpoint. We will pick you up if you take the train. You can also get a flight to Spokane, which will not be direct, and hop on the train there. We will pick you up in Sandpoint. If you really love trains, take the Wolverine from Pontiac, MI to Chicago, then hop on the Empire Builder all the way to Sandpoint. That's right, you can take trains all the way there with ease. It will take about 3 days though. I have been told I have to include instructions if you're not from Michigan, but you can just google it.

If you want to drive, go ahead and take I-90. Stop in Mitchell to see the Corn Palace, and see Mt. Rushmore and the black hills. Get free water at Wall Drug. You're also going to be a stone's throw from Yellowstone, so you can head over there. You can see the little big horn battlefield as well. Other than that, enjoy the magnificent desolation of the west. For the love of god don't go through Fargo. That's the most boring drive I have ever done.

Registry

We have one on Amazon. However, it's basically just a bunch of stuff to repair the house and cars and prepare for power outages. Because we don't have a lot of money, we are DIYing stuff kinda without guidance. Do not feel the need to buy anything on that.

The best bet would be to use the PayPal donate button below, and we can pool cash to fix up the house, or you can specify what you'd like us to spend it on. I will send out a letter with photo updates to every individual so you can make sure we use your gift how you would like.

Optional RSVP

This form is to fill out if we forgot to mail you an invitation or if we couldn't find your address and we had someone send you this page. Bring who you want. RSVP by August 1st.

If we mailed you an invitation, whether it is Rose's dishonorable printed invites or my own nigh unintelligible handwritten invites, you MUST RSVP BY MAIL. I spent good money on those stamps, but more importantly, I'm massively disorganized, and I need that physical card to make sure we account for you. You may also use this form if you want to specify how your donation is used.

Speech?

Yeah we think it would be fun if people got to do a speech. We don't even care what it's about. We will schedule as many as we can in proximity to the ceremony, but we might have you do it at one of the side events.

Food?

We don't know what the food is going to be yet. We'll have something for vegetarians to eat, like dandelions or strawberries and some kind of meat, but all else is unknown at this time.
